In conclusion, I believe that our group have come a long way in terms of knowing how to use technology, and how to edit, as before I didn't know much about camera skills and software. However, i do know how to do things I didn't do in the prelim. This is clearly reflected by the end result. In addition, my research and planning was more in depth as I had to focus of risk assessment, location, Mise-sen-scene, sound etc, when doing the title sequence. This is because in the prelim, there as little to think about and plan, it was all basic, but for the opening, it had a lot of thought and work put into it.

Final title sequence

Titles (Adriana)

In our titles sequence, we done the tradition order of titles, this was common in thriller/mystery genres as this what we observed before filming. The font used was Abadi MT Condensed Extra, this font was bold and simple as this doesn't make the audience distracted from the moving images behind, but it was bold to still make it quite visible. Also, the text colour was white and medium, at first we chose black but realised that some of the text in different scenes were not visible. We thought white would be the best alternative because its visible and simple.
The motion used when the titles came on screen was it rising from the bottom to the middle of the screen, we chose this because we thought it matched our title sequence, instead of the typing motion which was quite common.

Final editing

We have finally finished our title sequence after 3 weeks, we have had many complications throughout our journey. However, we have managed to finished on time and with everything completed and looking good!
HURRAY!!!

Production: Sound (Adriana)

Sound

Sound is very important in title sequences, it highlights the genre of the more and also helps the audience decide whether they will enjoy the movie or not.
In our film opening we will be using a range of sounds, we will have 4 sound layers, these will be:

  • Foley sound
  • Voice over
  • Background music
  • Sound effects

These sounds were gotten from the Internet(copyright free) and also made by us using the microphone.
The music we got from the Internet was all from YouTube, then used YouTube converter and saved it to our video drive then added it in.
It was quite hard finding the exact sounds we wanted because some of them didn't fit the scene, for example we used a creaky swing sound. It took us a while to find the exact one we enter because it came up with a wooden swing noise etc,  but that didn't match our scene as the swing was metallic.
