The main conventions and reasons for use:
- Historically, this is the most common type of title sequence
- Involves different kinds of type face on a background
- Usually a white background on a black background to create high contrast
- Clear font, easy to read
- Low budget
- Institutional information which makes it not complicate
- Black background, yellow writing
- Then later white writing
- Edgy yet simple, readable font
- No spacing between titles

- More elaborate than simple text on a black background
- Title cards were developed
- Can super impose titles over images
- Way of incorporating text with visual images
- Shows what the films genre is and what its about
- Clear, readable font
- Credit sequences were made longer
- Music/still images gives you a hint of the genre.

- Tennis related
- Title over still images
- The titles moved from one side of the screen to another like a tennis ball
- Used many still images which makes it look liie a moving image
- incorporated sound (no dialogue) only soundtrack, sound effects, pre recorded (narrative), and moving imagery
- Can categorize into metaphor and narrative thread
- These help introduce the tone, story line etc

This is my favourite sequence because it gives me a good insight of the film just in the first few minutes, this allows me to see whether I'll like the film or not depending on the title sequence.
