Generic Conventions
'Audience' is a very important concept throughout media studies. All media texts are made with an audience in mind, i.e a group of people who will receive it and make some sort of sense out of it. And target audience is a particular group at which a product such as a film or advertisement is aimed. This is very important as you can know your maximum number of audience figures, also helps you with decision making and marketing.
Similarly of conventions between Gone girl and identity is the non diegetic soundtrack which is both played over dialogue. The sound makes their viewer build up suspense and tension.
